Privacy Policy for Coucou

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Coucou is a Chrome extension that records a browser tab together with your microphone and, if you want, your camera. This page explains what the extension does with that data. The short version: everything stays on your computer.

What the extension processes

The extension only does this while you record, in the tab where you started the recording. The camera picture in the popup and on the welcome page is a preview and is not stored.

Where it is processed

On your device, inside Chrome. The video is encoded on your computer and kept in the extension's private storage in your browser until you delete it. When you save a recording, it is written to the place on your computer that you choose.

What we don't do

Permissions

Deleting your data

You can delete recordings at any time on the extension's Recordings page. Removing the extension from Chrome deletes all recordings and settings it stored. Videos you saved to your computer stay there until you delete them yourself.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
